Pros

Coworkers were some of the kindest, most talented people I've ever had the pleasure of working with.

Cons

Employees are underpaid and overworked, constantly having to bend over backwards to accommodate the ever-changing whims of tyrannical leadership. Senior management suffer from a severe case of FOMO, constantly trying to copy what other brands are doing instead of sticking to their roots and being original. The brand constantly brags about how "kind" they are, even claiming kindness as a secret ingredient in their products. However, this is nothing more than a marketing gimmick. Behind closed doors, leadership is condescending, egomaniacal, and unprofessional. Certain members of upper management are allowed to behave unprofessionally and, at times, are downright rude to subordinates with no repercussions. When these concerns are brought to HR, they respond that they “can’t change so-and-so’s personality. Raises and bonuses are rarely, if ever, given. When employees ask for them, they’re told it’s “not in the budget”; however, there always seems to be plenty of money for influencer events and unnecessary launches. Creativity is not encouraged or respected. Your job is to do exactly as leadership tells you, and if you dare offer your insight or have a voice, you'll be ignored and at times ostracized.

Pros

Talented coworkers who try to keep things afloat despite constant chaos. Good stepping stone to get into the skincare world.

Cons

• Founders are egomaniacal. Their obsession with appearances and personal vision consistently overrides strategy and employee input. input. • They have continuously laid people off with little to no severance - even after spending 5+ years with the company. • Leadership is disorganized and reactive. Priorities change frequently, leaving the team scrambling to catch up. • Marketing campaigns are rushed, underfunded, and often scrapped — flashy ideas are prioritized over execution, wasting time and resources. • Little to no career development or advancement opportunities. they refuse to promote within, because it would mean they must give salary increases. They will do anything to avoid paying raises or giving bonuses. • Workplace culture normalizes burnout: unrealistic deadlines, constant last-minute changes, and minimal recognition. • Political views are openly pushed. Employees who don’t align with the prevailing perspective are made to feel unwelcome. This was seen time after time, in group settings and on company wide calls. • The company’s “friendly, supportive” image is misleading — behind the scenes, it’s chaotic, exhausting, and unsustainable.

Pros

• Beekman is truly a kind company — it’s not just a slogan, you feel it in how people treat each other every day. • Leadership is approachable and genuinely invested in people’s growth. Feedback is taken seriously, and wins are celebrated. • Lots of opportunity to make an impact. Because the company is growing quickly, you’re empowered to take ownership and help shape how things get done. • Cross-functional collaboration is real here. PD, Ops, Marketing, Finance — everyone pulls together to make launches happen. • Work/life balance is respected. People understand that we all have families and lives outside of work.

Cons

Things move fast, which can feel overwhelming if you’re looking for rigid structure. But for me, that’s part of the excitement.
