Pros

-Make a difference in children's lives -Build a bond with children -Great on letting you take time off if month in advance

Cons

-Need to make up unexcused absences by picking up extra shifts -Lots of driving (no compensation) -Families cancel and you have no where to go -Work environments can get extremely hot in summer -Professionalism with family that you see every day (can't let them know anything about you) -Stressful -No conversation with adults (on site you can only talk about child you are with) -Shifts get long (3.5 hours) -Low compensation -No holiday pay

Rewarding to see progress Company provides a lot of education about autism awareness

Cons

Advancement only available when the company has resources or positions open Some clients use you as a babysitter Very stressful Homes can be very unclean/unsanitary at times Don't get compensated for driving
