Pros
If you are lucky, you may fall into interesting projects in which you can challenge yourself with trending tools and keep up to date with technologies. Personally, I got into a project with these features and it boosted a lot my career.
Cons
Unfortunately, there's also some none sense within the company, like managers getting people fired by HR for biased opinions, even if your performance is out standing. I've seen this, and it only restrict developers and the company in general from having critical thinking.
