Some Good, some Absolutely Toxic

Pros

Overall the corporate culture has a lot of innovation and is extremely fast paced and constantly changing. There is a lot of energy. The CEO has some good vision for driving the culture. Everyone is an owner which drives a lot of really hard-working behavior.

Cons

Leadership is mostly extremely young and inexperienced and has trouble visioning and investing in long term, sustainable strategies for the company instead of quick fixes for the current quarter. The COO is absolutely toxic, can be downright cruel at times, and extremely difficult to work for.

Pros

- You meet some really great people (internally) - unfortunately, the door just swings of people leaving or getting let go.

Cons

Where to start…. - They don’t value diversity, even though they boast about it. - Transparency is also a joke — they claim they’re all about it, but really just pick one tiny thing to highlight and then run with (hello Walter!) - Instability - they hire and fire people…usually it seems like only the people that “play the game” get to stay even though they’re not that great at their jobs. - Management never knows what’s going on and getting alignment on projects/direction is a joke (they will plan for Q2 in Q2) - They don’t truly care for their people and the lives they (attempt) to live outside of the office. - Nothing is ever good enough, work/life balance is a joke as they expect you to give all you can give and then give more. - Being promoted is a joke - legit seen people who are highly capable of doing jobs and then they have to prove themselves further and still get passed over for someone that “knows” someone with less experience. - Annual/Bi-Annual purges - yes, I said purge because they just have days they lay off entire departments (and again, they don’t think about how that will affect the entire company/operations to just not have a department anymore). - Benefits include….snacks and beer? Barely a pay raise (unless you tell them you have another job offer and essentially show them said offer letter).
