Horrible place to work

Pros

I can't think of a single one besides it being close to home.

Cons

I used to love BMH, but the hospital went down the drain after the last CEO/President Greg Britton left. We are forced to work understaffed and cut corners even if it's at the patients expense. So many things are not up to code, but management does not care. There are no Health insurance benefits anymore. Your pretty much paying out of pocket for everything. Pay is not competitive with surrounding hospitals.

Pros

Great fellow staff. Good starting point for new staff.

Cons

Expensive insurance. Low pay. A culture that is resistant to change. no follow through with leadership. seems cut off from the rest of the medical community.

Pros

Pay is competitive with other hospitals in the area. Small hospital friendly working atmosphere is stressed and shown to patients.

Cons

Nepotism is accepted and encouraged. This I found to be a disadvantage because it doesn't promote honest and true evaluations of an employee's abilities. Your job is protected, no matter what your abilities are or how you treat others, by knowing and being associated with the right people. They outsource a lot of work to workers living all over the United States and expect and wish patients will go to their neighborhood hospital (namely Beloit Memorial) when they seek treatment, this as they are paying wages to nonlocal workers.
