Pros

The people I worked with were great. My department worked well together as a team. They had a good benenfits program.

Cons

They do not understand the concept of work/life balance. You work whenever they need you. It makes it difficult to have a home or social life. When people get tired of it, they leave. They got rid of the recognition programs that had any incentive attached. Loyalty and dedication to the company were replaced by "what have you done for me today?" You can't talk to HR any more. Now, if you have a problem, you can look up a FAQ on-line or call an 800 number and talk to someone at the corporate call center who doesn't know you or your situation, or really care. They'll just give you a ticket number and tell you someone will get back to you.

Pros

excellent pay/benefits & overtime. as a maintenance mechanic, there was a wide variety of equipment to work on and there was a diverse employee base.

Cons

inexplicably inept management, a complete moral vacuum, it became clear as far back as 2011 that the company was planning the exit stratedgy that was announced in Oct. of 2013. then the unfair termination of long tenured employees really started to excellerate to reduce eventual severance payouts.

Pros

The company is shutting down, but it did provide critical drugs for very ill people. It had a great mission.

Cons

Politics and complexity along with an executive leadership team that really did not understand the business. The parent company, Boehringer-Ingelheim, had no clue how to run an American based subsidiary.
