Pros

At least all of my coworkers were also miserable. Made it easier to commiserate.

Cons

The Anderson office specifically makes it their mission to hire recent college graduates who have no experience so that they can take advantage & manipulate them. The senior management includes power hungry authority figures who emotionally abuses their subordinates on a daily basis. The office is powered on a sense of fear. Myself (and many of my colleagues) would try to arrange our schedules so that we were out of their line of fire as much as possible. Foster parents were licensed without any limitations. Can’t afford to pay your utilities? No problem, they’ll license you immediately, fill your house with high level cases, then force their workers to transport to appointments & visitations at all times throughout the week. Not mentally stable enough to be taking foster children in? No worries, they’ll be sure to exclude that information from your paperwork & then have their workers lie to state employees when problems arise. You will face serious ethical dilemmas working in this office. I can’t even count how many times I was told to “keep my mouth shut” about serious issues. We were constantly told that we should never let corporate know about what was going on with our cases, or we would all be fired. But when concerns eventually were reported to higher-ups, nothing was done because of the high level of homes that are licensed annually.

Pros

The families are very understanding given the extremely high demands and expectations set for them. BFS does not accommodate to the schedules of the foster families when it comes to trainings and meetings.

Cons

This is a job that does not care about their employees. I have been told multiple times by higher management that everyone is easily replaceable (just like that). If I had known that the company was this poorly conducted, I would have never accepted the offer. Flex time is not a real thing. Employees work well over 50 hours a week and are still told to work later and even weekends. This company gives you a hard time if you request PTO and even if you have a sick day. Unprofessional and favoritism is a top skill for higher management. Higher management don't know the company's minimum standards and decide to make things up as they go. No one is properly trained upon being hired and is expected to know the job regardless. EXTREMELY high turn over rate as no one in their right mind would put up with the unrealistic expectations for more than 10 months. Also, be aware of the false promises of any bonuses or chance for yearly raise, it is likely not to happen.

Pros

I loved the staff I worked with directly. The foster families and children I worked with were amazing and kept me in this job.

Cons

Laughable wages with no raises. Constant demands and threatens from middle and upper management. Corrupt "leaders" in the corporate office. People are promoted into leadership positions with minimum qualifications and a "yes man" attitude.
