Pros

Great compensation and benefits, beautiful buildings, company owners and CEO truly have a servant heart and want to provide the best in senior living.

Cons

You have some, not all, terrible regional operations directors that should not be in the business of caring for seniors. The upper corporate level never see that side of the regional community support. It is very difficult to know how your regional community support is actually supporting the community. Most cases they create more chaos and disfunction and they never really listen to the community level staff as to what’s really needed to improve the community. Reduce your regional team layers.

Pros

It's a small company, and each of our communities are like a family unit - max out at about 60 to 75 residents, depending upon the community's layout. Our home office provides great support and turnkey tools to help support and reward its front line staff (monthly drawings to pay energy bills, two cars given away every year, random gifts and thank-yous, monthly recognition and financial rewards for each community's "superstar" employees voted upon by their peers). Even in a sales capacity, the job isn't about "sales," but about service, and getting seniors to the best place for their needs, even if it isn't Benton House. From the company owners and leaders on down to the Executive Directors at each community, the leadership is supportive and in the trenches with everyone else. The environment over the past few years due to Covid and the effects on workforce shortages has been tough all over, but Benton House teams have pulled together to help one another out. It's not perfect, but it's loving. Our average employee tenure is higher than other senior care companies, I think it's because we're smaller and feel like we have one another's backs .... and also because we love our residents and wouldn't want to leave them. It's a great company. The best.

Cons

The only drawback is related to the industry, not the company specifically. Health care and senior care is hard .... everywhere. There are times we have to help pick up others' shifts and the hours can be long to make sure that our seniors continue to get the care and TLC they need and deserve.

Pros

I enjoy working and helping the senior citizens. It's a comfortable environment.

Cons

The position also requires you to be a waitress, laundry attendant and custoduan. It's really 4 jobs into 1 position. It's too much to do on 1 shift. It's fast pace and I'm always exhausted towards the end of my shift.
