I don't know how this place hasn't gotten shut down
Pros
Free smoothies since they don't keep track of anything and I figure I at least deserve a smoothie since I'm working 9 hours with no breaks and no lunch period!
Cons
I worked for this company for two and a half years while I was in college. I worked for the Shields and Drake location. I truly don't know how it hasn't gotten shut down and to this day I still have nightmares about it! Since then, I've had multiple jobs, including sitting at a call center dialing all day, and nothing compares to the horror I experienced here. No breaks. No resting periods. No lunches. Nothing. How is that even legal? Well, it's not. One time an employee I worked with brought it up and she was immediately fired! The owner was of course a multi-millionaire who could care less about her employees and treats them like lab rats. Don't get me wrong, I understand this is just a smoothie bar, but you are so mistreated here. I remember my knees being so sore and swollen for days after working a 9 hours shift (half of it alone) with a line of people out the door during the 95 degree summer weather. The place was absolutely disgusting. I just don't get it. You own the most popular smoothie bar in Fort Collins, and you don't have any care to take care of it or the people that work there? This place was already popular for their smoothies alone, if someone would have cleaned and fixed it up, it could have been huge! I honestly don't think the owner made that much money off of it considering there was never even an inventory! This guy I worked with gave out smoothies to all 10 of his friends one day. It was such a joke. I feel bad for anyone that works there now! Since the owner was so poor (NOT), she refused to staff two people on for a shift. Let me just say that this is literally the most popular smoothie bar in the whole town of Fort Collins. I would usually be alone for all but maybe two or three hours for a whole 9 hour shift and there would be a huge line out the door the entire time. People would literally have to wait in line for 30 minutes. Since I had worked there pretty long I would say I was good at making smoothies and would have four blenders on each hand, working so hard, sweating and my legs shaking the entire shift. Just a terrible, dirty, unethical place to have worked for.
