Pros

Good enough salary and benefits Good location

Cons

Extremely high turnover due to hostile culture/environment. Professional development and willingness to take on greater responsibility discouraged to keep employees in the same roles they started in. Collaboration between teams/departments was emphasized during interview process then discouraged in practice. Personalities of current management are not conducive to management roles. Poor leadership overall. Stuck in the 60s with rigid workplace hierarchy, boys' club mentality, and job roles that are highly genderized - support staff overwhelmingly female, sales/upper management teams overwhelmingly male. This is the Bay Area, don't tell me you can't find women in finance. Overwhelmingly it's as if the people who stay the longest at Bertram are those who would not be hired anywhere else due to their bad attitudes/interpersonal skills. Do not work here.

Not minority friendly!!

Pros

Free lunches available daily in office

Cons

Just take a look at all the people who left or were kept in their roles for longer than they should have been. All minorities. This place is not a friendly environment to minorities at all which is why there are none past a certain level. You can see big big differences between how minorities are treated here. The only time this place even hires minorities is fundraising. It is a very exclusive club through and through. Also there are lots of times where partners say problematic things. No development for ANYONE unless you fit the mold. Shocking for the Bay Area!!! Minorities beware.

Pros

great compensation and benefits decent amount of team events through happy hours and give back opportunities

Cons

boys club mentality - you will fit in if you are a white male that loves wearing Patagonia vests very poor leadership and lack of management - no clear goals or growth plan with unrealistic expectations set there is a very old school mentality... even heard sexist & other unprofessional comments in meetings occasionally people and relationships are expendable lack of diversity I tried to leave give my manager upward & constructive feedback through the formal review process and after everything was submitted he made a joke about how his boss doesn't even know how to login to the system & review feedback....this was extremely discouraging.
