I was hired in a leading position aiming to initiate their processes and improve their codebase. After some months of huge effort, my team members did a great job. We introduce coding principles and methodologies. At the same time, we were also delivering production features and bug fixes.
During this period, we were receiving too much pressure from the upper members. They fired a guy in a very bad way without any kind of formal evaluation. Essentially, that was my triggering point. They were making amateur designs for Enterprise features and we had to implement them. There was not any kind of research or thinking behind their decisions. They could not distinguish the priorities and efforts.
After 4 months I submitted my resignation. Even if I was in a leading position, and I introduced many things, no one asked me why I did it. They stop talking to me. From their perspective, I am a traitor just like all the other guys that are leaving the Company. Since they did not ask for any feedback they never gonna change. They will always believe that they don't do mistakes and we are the traitors and the "bad" characters.
During my professional career, I have left several companies. I have never seen such amateur behavior. I have never written a negative review. Since they don't ask for feedback, they don't want to change, so all the senior people will keep leaving and the list with the negative evaluations will keep growing.
