Pros

Absolutely no pros except you may be allowed to set your own work schedule if you supervisor is not a complete you know what..don't work here!

Cons

This is the absolutely worst place to work in America. Do NOT work here unless no one else (including McDonald's) is hiring. Nepotism is king here. If you are well liked you will be promoted and given raises regardless of your level of Education and skill set. If you are disliked, you will be harassed, manipulated, and overworked until you walkout in sheer frustration or terminated. My department chair does NOT have the skill set to do well in the position and my very fat Dean is petty, abusive, and manipulative. There is absolutely no respect for faculty. I feel like I work on a slave plantation. The administration is bloated beyond measure. At last count there are 11 BPs with only 3400 students. The faculty are severely overworked and severely underpaid and instead of appreciating the the service and dedication of the faculty the administration acts they are doing you a favor by giving you a job. The administration has no regard for policy or procedure.

Pros

The paid time off , vacation time, and insurance.

Cons

This place was AWFUL to work for. The lack of organization and corruption within the upper administration was ridiculous. I had problems from day one. I was provided with no training on my position, the students were ALWAYS in the right if a complaint was made, and they ruled with fear tactics. They did everything wrong when it comes to obtaining and keeping good employees. The stress of working at this place is not worth the few dollars you are paid. You will come in with bright ideas and excitement but it quickly gets squashed as you realize the upper administration will not give you any funds to execute these "awesome programs" they often ask you to do. The morale of those at the college is very low and the student population has such a drastic range of people, many of which should never have been let in. The upper administration is very good for playing the blame game when often it is their poor management skills and lack of fiscal knowledge that are driving this college into the ground. I am an avid supporter of our HBCUs, but this college has got to do better if they truly want Dr. Bethune's legacy to live on. At the rate they're currently going this college will not last another 50 years.

Pros

Nearby restaurants, many nice students and staff, very large, growing private campus. New cafeteria with very good food.

Cons

High turnover poor management and administration due to family approach to doing business. If you're not part of the Family you are an outsider and this is a historically black college university which is not understanding of other ethnicities. If you value hard work honesty high moral character you will not fit in here. In other words if you don't understand the clique environment at this university no one is going to tell you. Instead there will mock you and conspire against you until they have grounds to terminate you.
