Was a great place to work before...

Pros

BCI was a great place to work when the former CEO was the head of the company. As a new business at times policies and procedures were constantly changing but the former CEO always made sure that the team understood why certain decisions were being made. Coming to work was fun even with challenging quotas because teammates were excited to come to work and work together. Also, the former CEO always had an open door policy and was not afraid to converse with his employees which made for a tighter knit team.

Cons

Once Dr. Becky took over, unfortunately, the place became unbearable to work. She treats her employees as if they indispensable as well as idiots. She treats the workplace as a high school environment where she is constantly bad-mouthing other employees to one another. Dr. Becky manages the business out of fear and does not like managers conversing with employees and instead prefers a very traditional manager-employee relationship which causes a lot of mistrust. Turn over is very high and the environment is high-stress and no opportunity for moving up.

Pros

I am struggling to think of any. Money seems OK, until you realize how time-intensive all requirements are and that providing feedback on really poorly written papers takes an incredible amount of time.

Cons

Terrible online curriculum; some of the worst students; cheating of epic proportions among its Saudi Electronic University student clients - worse than in any for-profit school in the US. Taught for a semester an MBA course that BCI designs and teaches for its partner, Saudi Electronic University. This was just an appearance of a graduate course - 80-90% of students cheated extensively and systemically; and the policies allowed them to submit and re-submit cheated assignments without penalty. Think of it this way: you submit a plagiarized assignment at a US university, you fail the assignment the first time; second time you fail the course. Here, you get to resubmit the assignment without penalty if/when caught. Many, if not most, students used synonym generator websites to escape plagiarism detection and turned in ridiculous papers that made little to no sense. Silly faculty requirements that made no sense (eg respond to every single student's discussion post; say three nice things about papers in all feedback, no matter what crap gets turned in). Zero concern about teaching students - students, faculty, and administrators go through the notions of making it seem like they are teaching and learning. Oh, and here's the best part - classified their faculty as independent contractors and not employees, in what appears to be a violation of US employment law.

Horrible management

Pros

Free coffee in the lunchroom. The commute is not too bad into the DTC area.

Cons

The management is lacking here, kind of directionless. Communication (feedback) is almost non-existent unless you make a mistake. So, in essence, a toxic work environment. On top of that, the benefits are not competitive at all.
