Pros

- snacks - nitro cold brew - you can learn a lot

Cons

- no flexibility to work from home for more than 1 day a week max - chained to desk while at work and guilted when you take a break - very political environment, if you're not in the clique, your career is not safe - fake reviews - no transparency or open conversations about salary - does not respect the need to work from home in a global pandemic

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about your experience while working at Billd. We are always monitoring the broader health environment and have made the necessary changes to ensure a safe working environment while also giving employees the flexibility to work from home once a week. We will continue to follow policies recommended by CDC and balance with the local environment in Austin. We are always looking to improve our open-door policy on issues such as compensation and to promote a fun and nurturing work environment. It’s very disappointing to hear feedback about politics in the office and lack of trust with your career, that is against everything we stand for with our employees. Please be confident that this feedback is heard and will get our full attention. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors!

Pros

-Great place to meet people who are looking for other jobs -Perfect for someone who hates getting recognized for their work

Cons

To paint a picture CEO comes back from 2 week vacation in Europe. First day back he gathers the company together and tells entire staff "if you're not feeling the pressure - this isn't the job for you."

It sounds like you did not feel like your work was recognized and can understand the frustration if you were not getting that at Billd. I will be the first to admit that we are not for everyone. We view our people as our greatest assets and very fortunate to have some great people that thrive on driving to solve some big problems in the $1.5T construction industry. I’m sorry things did not work out for you at Billd and wish you the best of luck. -Chris Doyle, CEO

Good Idea, Subpar Execution

Pros

-Some of the Coworkers are easy to get along with and are some people that you can see yourself grabbing drinks with after work. -Plenty of company events

Cons

-office politics is the most important thing that management values here. -Management encouraging and leaving fake reviews on glassdoor (they send emails encouraging leaving good reviews, and tell you not to leave any on glassdoor and come to them directly) -Job security: don’t think your job is safe for if you aren’t involved in office politics. People have got let go over things that wouldn’t be a big deal if managers or other people did them. -No clear promotion path: you constantly get promised promotion but in reality they will keep you in your position for as long as they can. -Lots of good people have left and taken better opportunities elsewhere. -No real processes in place your job title could change any day without any warning.
