Beware, this company is Caustic

Pros

Able to meet outstanding people that work at your level/pay grade but everyone else above you level/pay grade, beware. Walk with caution at all times. Or better yet, just keep on walking. Unfortunaly, this is the only "pro" I could think of, which should tell you a lot about Biodesix.

Cons

Extremely disappointing company to work for, and I have had my fair share of technician jobs in the past to know this company is bad news. The supervisors are very clickily and will regard anyone out of their own space as a threat and ostracize any individual they deem un worthy. The employee will be promised promotion within 6 months and continued training in new areas within the laboratory but this falls apart within a moments notice. This company is all talk but action is something they will never be capable of performing to the best of their ability. FALSE HOPES! And a few more adjectives to describe the work place: deceitful supervisors, conniving leads, poor integrity, lack of adaptability, little vision for the future, lack of accountability, extremely poor communication skills, and very poor use of employee vs. employer company language (example: new highers will be called a CHILD until they graduate to ADULT HOOD, Yes, a technician coming in with countless years of experience will be called a child until they are told otherwise, this is also true to someone coming in with no experience as well). Horrible company concept! Learn this company name and move on if/when this company every approaches you in the future. They are over staffed at the moment but with the number of individuals leaving by the end of Summer 2021 they will be looking for new hires. Just skip their booth at the next open Career Fair Day! It is not right to have employees crying and feeling so immobile they cannot think of anything but how to quit a company in order to save their own sanity. Its unfortunate that I and so many people had to feel pain, sadness, and un truths throughout our employment. Please beware and save yourself the time and energy. I thank you for your time of reading this statement. Happy job hunting.

Company’s Reviews Are Fake

Pros

Lure you in with inaccurate company facts and high base. High base is the only pro.

Cons

Inexperienced awkward sales leadership at home office. They know little about sales process and what physcians truly find valuable. Barf all over docs and never stop to listen showing they know nothing about sales. Leadership plays favorites with reps that don’t make sales. Promote those who don’t make sales or deserve it. Great idea on liquid biopsy but results don’t specify any treatment protocol. Gives the physcian nothing. NODIFY came off the block with mediocre results. Company was betting the bank on it. Peoples reviews don’t reflect current NODIFY results or what’s really going on at company. CRM reporting across the entire company is widely fiction to keep those who love fake over reporting instead of truth happy. Most if not all successful accounts across the country receive research reimbursement funds which promote ordering. This is common practice in this industry. Most successful reps have several of these accounts. If you don’t have these types of accounts bought for you good luck on any long term success.

Biodesix Response

As the leader of the commercial organization at Biodesix, I believe it is important to be open to all feedback, most importantly when it is negative. As a company, our primary focus should always be doing what is right for all of our customers, however in so doing it is not always possible to please every Biodesix teammate. However, I also believe we should continually strive to improve as an organization, and receiving constructive critical feedback is imperative to that process. I encourage you, and for that matter any teammate who feels uncomfortable or unheard giving critical feedback via the standard channels, to embrace our cultural value of courageous communication and reach out to either myself directly or another member of the senior leadership team, and to do so without fear of repercussion. Your HS had nothing on this one.

Pros

40 hour work weeks Easy job, low stress. The facility is nice. Health benefits are decent - especially for a small company! It is a small company so you may get to learn a lot which will serve you well in your next job. It is a stepping stone.

Cons

Cliquish - think TV show depiction of cliquish High School x 2. You have never seen anything like this outside of a HS. It is astonishing a company can actually be this way. If you are in the clique, the sky will be the limit for you in terms of the title you can get to (and you won’t really have to work that hard to climb and you will need little to no experience in the area). If you are not in the clique… I hope you like the job you were hired into. No matter how good you are at what you do, you will most likely never move up. Your advancement there will depend upon your ability to be part of the clique – not on your effort or expertise.
