Pros

The best thing about Bioworld is that management is so oblivious and unconcerned about its employees; that it posts a review of itself on this website taking no responsibility for its obvious mistreatment of employees. After reading the numerous consistent negative reviews by current and former employees, management posts a review under Real Bioworld.... Not taking responsibility for the numerous honest reviews.... Not saying it is working to improve... But telling all these employees that their comments do "not compute". This is typical of management at Bioworld to not take responsibility for their actions and mistreatment of its employees. Even with the overwhelming consistent message of poor treatment of employees throughout this website; do they think maybe we should listen. No, they tell all those that finally speak their heart that what they say doesn't matter. Can you imagine if one individual tried to say something if they won't listen to dozens.

Cons

They lie, they are abusive, they do not care at all about their employees lives, families or careers. The training is a consistent beat down until people give up. The company is absolutely successful... If you judge success solely by taking advantage of employees and customers to make the owner and a select few very rich. Anyone that looks at the financials of this company and notices the percentage of profits that is invested in its employees; they can see this company does not care at all about its people. Trust me; they keep this information top secret.

Bioworld Merchandising Response

Thank you for your feedback. This assessment is valuable although not a complete representation of who Bioworld is as a whole. Just like any organization, Bioworld is far from perfect. In fact, there are a lot of things that we know we have to get better at. There are numerous things we are striving for that have not come to full realization yet, but they will with the efforts of all staff. We have an amazingly talented team -- from our younger generation of team members to our more seasoned staff. We're a company focused on profit (like all companies) and we have very high expectations of our employees, many of which have been with Bioworld since its inception. The average employee length of service indicates that the Company does A LOT of things right. One thing is very accurate within this review: former and current team members have/are speaking their minds/hearts on this site, which is a good thing. However, these same individuals are not speaking to the appropriate people within the company -- someone who can actually do something about their concerns. The HR team is new, and it is encouraged to bring any and all concerns forward so that constructive conversations can be had and so real solutions can be formed. Making any organization a great place to work is a collective effort. We all have a responsibility to do our part.

Pros

You can literally wear whatever you want including your clubbing clothes, shorty shorts, or maybe gym clothes. Such professionalism is represented here!

Cons

I cannot believe how dysfunctional this company is. They have "processes" in place but yet if anything falls out of it, we have to meet to discuss which is a waste of time. The reason why is because no one wants to make the decision on their own for there is no employee empowerment. Because of this, it seems like there are many people who don't work and push the buck. There is absolutely NO cross functional teamwork or even communication with other departments for the "executives" don't enforce it or lead by example. The turnover is insane and they seem to be okay with the waste of money it takes to "train" someone new because the pay is low. This is where everything stems from, if a company doesn't care about you, why would they care about it.

Disappointing and scary.

Pros

Some of the lower level people are cool. You can learn a lot if you pay attention. Mostly what not to do in business.

Cons

Where to start? Bioworld is hell. Everyone is against each other, upper management is full of liars, thieves and misogynistic, sexist man-babies. The men in this company treat women like they're stupid and have no qualms about showing exactly what they think. They'll ignore a woman but listen to a man saying the exact same thing. Upper management lies to their employees and abuses them by over working, under paying and telling them that they're not working enough or hard enough even though they're doing the job of 3-5 people. The work-life balance is non existent. Either you belong to Bioworld or... you don't work there. Period. Upper management doesn't listen when their employees tell them they need help and when you ask for it and finally get them to budge a LITTLE, they make you feel like you owe them the world. The turnover rate at this company is astounding. People come for one week and leave because they recognize that it's a bunch of BS. No one respects anyone and the workload is beyond stressful. Interdepartmental communication is non-existent and everyone works against each other. Middle management gets stuck dealing with the BS from lower and upper and has no choice but to deal with it the best they can. And even most of them are crooked and corrupt. There's maybe two managers in the entire company that are good people and they get the brunt of everyone else's heinousness. Forget trying to bring ideas up for positive change - you will be shut down, yelled at, demeaned, cursed at and ultimately get told "you're fired, we're taking this position in a different direction." This happened to 4 people that I know of this year. Women in this company are paid less than men and the "men" in charge don't know what they're doing. I would heavily advise never working here.
