Pros

- Nice people - Interesting work - Mainly stick to 9-5 hours

Cons

- Uncompetitive remuneration - Low holiday entitlement - Low travel compensation - Wellbeing policies appear as a tick box exercise - "Flexible" working isn't actually flexible - Lack of diversity in the workforce - Representative of the typical accountancy firm 10-15 years ago.

Thank you for your review, it’s good to hear that you enjoy working with colleagues here and find the work interesting. In terms of remuneration, we aim to ensure we’re as competitive as possible in the market by carrying out our annual salary benchmarking which also looks at our benefits offering. It would be helpful to pick-up on the other points raised to understand your concerns in a little more detail and see if there is anything we can do to address them, if you could give me a call on 0117 3006361 it would be great to get your feedback and see what we can do.

Pros

Some genuinely great people, and work/life balance and flexibility are generally good, though at times you will be expected to work overtime. Quite a few social opportunities to get involved in and room for growth overtime.

Cons

Colleagues have been made redundant with a shocking lack of professionalism or empathy. The behaviour from partners and leadership has been a rude awakening - the firm doesn’t care anymore about its people. Communication has been nonexistent. Staff are left to discover colleagues have gone only after the fact, while we're being told not to ask any questions and to carry on as 'normal' Meanwhile, workloads increase due to budget cuts and constant scrutiny from leadership, with no additional support for those left picking up the slack. MP and leadership seem incapable of admitting their mistakes, so the rest of the firm ends up paying the price instead. Redundancies are dismissed as ‘just change,’ which feels utterly tone-deaf in this climate. Given the uncertainty and stress being created across the business, the firm’s refusal to acknowledge the obvious systemic issues being faced is completely eroding trust in leadership.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, we’re sorry to hear about your experience. We recognise that periods of change can impact people differently, and clear communication, along with support to manage any change is important. While our recent Great Place to Work survey showed some great scores, we appreciate that survey results do not reflect every individual experience. Your feedback is valuable and helps us identify where we can improve. We remain committed to strengthening communication and support across the firm and we would strongly encourage you to speak directly with your Team Manager or Service Line / Function Head so we can better understand your concerns and address any issues raised.

Pros

- Excellent range of experience when training in Audit. - Given responsibility to undertake tasks that some firms give to managers.

Cons

The leadership of the organisation is woefully lacking and they do not have their core values right. For example, when a trainee finishes their three year ACA qualification they have to repay their fees if they leave within 2 years. This is an incredibly long period and whatsmore, the firm are very keen on taking legal action and have done so to a number of trainees. What sort of employer thanks someone for three good years of service by giving them a £15,000 bill? Personally, I would feel inhuman to do that to a 24 year old and I think it is borderline intimidation. Other cons: - Lack of quality guidance and supervision from managers. - A very rigid heirarchy. - A lack of care/interest from many of the partners.
