Pros

No delays with pay Some experience gained in print by nature of the company’s industry position

Cons

The company insists on preserving an outdated work culture. When I was there in 2020 there was no sick pay, only the legal minimum holiday allowance was given, and there was a strict dress code even for non-client facing roles. Mistakes were punished with a £200 deduction to bonus, which led to a toxic culture of blame and blame avoidance rather than a supportive culture. I witnessed management (both upper and middle) talking down to employees (in front of everyone) in an extremely condescending (and arguably downright abusive) manner. Several of my colleagues were reduced to tears on a regular basis. Coffee was charged for. Eating at one’s desk was forbidden. Management refused any flexibility at all with lunch hours (medical appointments mean one must book holiday). Sales staff were sent a tally of the number of calls everyone in the department had made that day. If you hadn’t made enough your line manager would shout across the table at you to step it up. The genuinely quality employees tend to leave fairly quickly. If you find yourself in the unfortunate position of having to take a job at this company, I’d suggest you use it as a stepping stone and be aware that the company will be trying to squeeze everything it can out of you with no regard for your well-being or career prospects. Colleagues who worked on the “shop floor” reported to me that taking any lunch break was frowned upon.

I think there are some fair comments here, so thanks for your feedback. We've evolved over the last three years and although some of your comments are not entirely fair (we didn't deduct £200 from bonus earnings, but rather an additional £200 was 'unlocked' per month for accuracy. although we don't do that at all any more to avoid confusion or misrepresentation), you would experience a more supportive environment as compared to your recollection. Certainly, staff turnover is reduced, flexibility exists, eating is done at desks or in refurbished rest room areas, and we're just in general 'better' I think. Nobody gets shouted at in the sales or account management functions but we do have targets and publish KPIs because knowing where you are at and how you and the business is doing is important. Thanks for your comments.

Thanks for leaving your review , although it is frustrating not to understand more of your criticisms. We have definitely invested heavily throughout the factory in our equipment but it is the people operating this great kit which makes us what we are. I'd like to think that the number of long serving staff (and the number that leave but then ask to return!) make me believe that we're getting a lot right, but your reminder is well received and if there's anything specific we should know, do feel free to email HR in confidence, thank you.

Pros

None, hated everyday, every minute, majority of the people

Cons

If you want to work for a company where management make you feel worthless. You leave everyday with high amounts of anxiety and depression. See production management abuse staff in front of the rest of the production team. Get shouted at by the owner for making a coffee. Blame culture at an all time high. Get job bags thrown at you, get called an idiot and being the running joke of the management team. Then this is the company for you

This is naturally a disappointing and slightly frustrating review to receive, especially from an apparently former member of staff who stayed with us for more than four years (although I think you've chosen to allocate yourself as an 'account manager' in this review when your comments suggest your experience is solely in the factory). Your comments don't seem balanced and I don't really believe you hated every minute and most of your 200 colleagues (more than four years is too long to stay in a job that gives you such lack of satisfaction or enjoyment!) I'd also hope that any 'blame culture' is at an all time low - we accept that mistakes happen but we try and promote care so clients get what they want and we share the financial benefit of any savings below monthly average with staff members. Nobody should get shouted at for making a coffee, especially since we invested this year in new facilities for the very purpose of improving facilities. We won't be taking your advice to 'just shut down' (the print industry is challenging but I very much hope not quite that serious for us in the months ahead) but if you can offer some more detail and some constructive criticism that I can act upon, then do message me privately. Many thanks in advance
