Pros

The potential for learning in depth about the digital advertising landscape, buying/selling media, and establishing relationships with retail clients. If you want to become a Senior/Director level role in this company, it can be achieved through 1-2 years of promotions, but expect to be working 12 hour days.

Cons

If you don’t look and act a certain way, the 99% of the company who do not look like you will rob you of your promotion, talk about you behind your back, and passive aggressively make you feel like you are not worthy. Although this company is a small startup with potential, it needs to overcome many ethical, organizational, and cultural barriers before it can see itself becoming successful. The people management aspect in particular is devastating. I experienced severe Micromanaging - each hour, I received no less than 20 Slack messages - pages worth - of feedback from my manager, of which I would work halfway through only to be told to start all over because she meant to tell me to do it another way. When I told my manager that I had a bad weekend because my family member got sick, she smiled at me and said “that’s nice.” I felt uncomfortable bringing issues up to any other leaders within the company since it was so small, and my “team” seemed to be run by what I can only refer to as the Ivy League Mean Girls Club.

Expect to be reported for poor performance for: - Not replying to Slack messages within 5 minutes - Being 1 minute late to a video meeting - Showing any ounce of your character or personality - Asking questions when you don’t understand a concept, even when they tell you they encourage proactive learning - Sounding like you’re “chewing on something” when you speak, when it’s just your normal talking voice

Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. You mention that Bliss Point is a growing startup. This is true, and we have made great investments to ensure that the growth of our People team, learning and development opportunities, and benefits package mirrors the growth of the company as a whole. Bliss Point Media is dedicated to the development of all employees and offers ample professional learning opportunities, both internally and externally. On top of the structured onboarding and development you receive from your managers, we’ve recently offered communication workshops for employees to work on communication skills outside of a client or team setting. In giving all of our employees the tools to succeed, we find professional growth happens quickly at Bliss Point. However, growth is personal. An employee’s pace and interests dictate the path forward, which means that growth can look different—and can happen on a different schedule--for everyone. Inclusion is something we always strive for. Recently, we have made improvements to our benefits that include a monthly Wellness Stipend for employees to use flexibly in support of their physical and mental wellbeing. We’ve also introduced social clubs, an opt-in benefit for employees, led by employees. Our people are our greatest asset. The policies and programs we’ve developed have come by listening to our employees (both current and former). Thank you for your dedication to Bliss Point’s continued improvement.

Pros

PTO room to grow Open to new ideas / collaborative Snacks No prior advertising experience needed

Cons

Very fast paced environment with the expectations to excel within your beginning months. The team have such high expectations of you that instead of teaching you, they put you in uncomfortable situations to fend on your own. This company will cut you off if you seem to make any minor mistake and if you do not fit with the company culture that will trigger them as well.

Pros

Great onboarding, accessible leadership, fast-paced growth. I was onboarded during COVID office closure and BPM has provided everything I need for success. The company's positive, collaborative, and fun culture can be felt even in our current work-from-home setting.

Cons

Very selective in hiring process
