WORST COMPANY AROUND

Pros

Pay, People can be nice when they aren’t talking politics, work is interesting

Cons

The company CEO and upper management is constantly sending out emails to employees about their political views and it’s absolutely incredulous that they think it’s appropriate to behave this way in the workplace. News flash: some of your employees disagree with your political beliefs and I don’t need you pushing them on me. I’m here to work and I’m pretty sure it’s illegal for you to be bringing up politics over and over and over again. Can we just have a peaceful meeting without you blabbering and bringing up Trump or someone else?! PLEASE STOP

Blue Beyond Consulting Response
5y
At Blue Beyond, we believe our work can and should serve a higher purpose. When we started the company we asked “What is the future we yearn for?” and came up with seven statements (https://www.bluebeyondconsulting.com/our-vision/) that together express this higher purpose. While our shared purpose isn't political, it is not neutral in terms of "the future we yearn for" -- and that future does in fact depend on adherence to shared democratic values and the rule of law. The insurrection in Washington, DC on January 6, 2021, as well as the people, rhetoric, and policies that instigated it were and remain a threat to the values we hold most dear. I believe business leaders have a moral imperative to address this threat. As I said in my email to all employees on January 7, 2021, "Creating diverse, inclusive organizations where both the business and people thrive -- grounded in common moral values, norms, and basis of fact -- is not just good for business and people, it's one of our best hopes for re-building a healthy, shared, democratic culture as Americans." I stand by that statement -- and we strive to do this every day at Blue Beyond within our company and with our clients, as well.
