      Pros

      After eight years with Blue Coat the positive side heavily outweighs the negative. There has been a steady stream of improvements over the last couple of years which makes me very confident that the company is on the right track. Happy customers, technology that works, market leadership, good benefits, nice colleagues, manager accountability and the opportunity to grow all make up for a great workplace - if you are ready to work hard.

      Cons

      There has been some questionable decisions made in the past that are now corrected or at least on their way to be fixed. The only negative points I can think of would be the turbulent history, poor marketing and an outdated recruitment profile.

      Working in the security business means you have to make sure your product is rock solid, which can be a challenge

      Good company, benefits, and other perks. Good product line.

      Cons

      If you are mid career and have skills, other places might be better. The company has momentum but you will not be included into success. You will not be granted stock unless you are in management. If you have kids and need to live in good school district, it is next to impossible with the pay. Management has their own goals in mind, not yours.
