Overworked

Pros

This job is flexible and the salary has been acceptable until now. There is a lot of support when needed.

Cons

The position is now basically a manic-paced one and at least some employees will be "demoted" with the new educational units policy which requires extra units to be graduate level. This is both unfair and insulting to HSTs who have essentially been overworked this year.

Pros

The school has some very dedicated and talented teachers, services providers, and school psychologists.

Cons

Special education leadership does not foster a healthy working environment. Instead, sends the message that employees are dispensable. In addition, leadership is not knowledgeable about certain roles, takes on too much so that they cannot do their job effectively, and overall has a bad attitude and negative communication style. Does not valuye, listen, or support staff.
