      Former Adjunct Instructor

      Pros

      Worked with a great department chair and most of the students were pretty damn nice.

      Cons

      Some of the instructors were really out in la-la land and didn't offer much help. There was no system of checks and balances for adjuncts - just handed them a book and said "Go!"

      Pros

      I like the job and my immediate supervisor is great.

      Cons

      We do not get spring break like the rest of the school, but do get fall break. They do not give out raises or have conversations about raises with any ease. The HR is very reticent to have conversations about it.
