Pros

I joke to friends that I stalked this company and my current supervisor until they were forced to hire me. I enjoy the flexible schedule it really has helped me balance work/family/school. I'm one of those crazy folks that works full time, is still working on my education, and has three teenagers so this kind of schedule works for me. Nothing better than being able to go to a school conference, dental appointment, ect without issues. Health insurance, retirement, is better than previous employers and a real bonus to working here. I have received amazing training, some in house, and some that the employer had to pay outside vendors to provide that has provided me with certification and tools that I did not have before coming to work at Bluebonnet Trails. There are always emails circulating about training available to hone my skills. I have a great team of individuals who I work with. We all have our good and bad days but I know that they have my back when I need them and I try and pitch in when they need me. We are all people with personalities but in general we get along. Example a few weeks ago the AC conked out...scorcher....a coworker got ice-cream treats and walked around handing them out to everyone, individuals here for service, employees, doctors, it’s the little things that add up.

Cons

I have worked here for over a year and my initial fear was being able to meet the productivity requirements. I have never missed a benchmark and yes it requires a level of hustle but it is not unreasonable. I have never had to work off the books to meet this and my advice is to schedule more appointments in a day so when the inevitable cancelations come you are still fine. Yes there is the day where the sun and moon align wrong and everyone cancels, this is life. I love those days because I can then work with some people who want more time that I couldn't fit into my schedule and get some pet projects done. There is never enough to meet all the need that is present in the community and it is difficult to see how systems can be broken and to assist individuals through the process makes you more aware of the cracks. It’s enough to almost motivate me to play in politics to address those cracks. There is nothing more personal than a face to a problem you have heard about to make it very real.

Pros

The type of work is good if you like helping people. The benefits are good. Most of the frontline staff are hard working, good people.

Cons

Way too many layers of management. Most managers cannot make decisions without the permission of a few top dogs. Upper management is out of touch with the daily grind and difficulties staff deal with. Years of hard work and success are irrelevant when a complaint is made by a patient, even if the complaint isn't valid. There is no real job security here.

Pros

There were select few community managers who did a good job and actually cared about providing quality services but its all about the billing and quantity so those staff were stifled by administrative power that care only about quantity not quality. The only other "pro" is that if you need "to get your feet wet" to gain experience in this field then it may be good for those fresh out of college.

Cons

There are too many to mention but here are few: 1. expected long hours with no compensation in order to meet "time quotas" with clients 2. unrealistic expectations 3. do not expect to move up with this company unless you have a close friendship with supervisory staff 4. supervisors with no ETHICS whatsoever creating an overall HOSTILE WORK ENVIRONMENT who bully & manipulate staff daily
