Bluetent no longer exists. We work for Inhabit IQ. Run away.

Pros

The best part of working at Blue Tent is the flex time arrangement where we are generally able to schedule work around times that allow for long lunches, dog walks, or other quick breaks.

Cons

Bluetent as an independent company no longer exists. We work for Inhabit IQ which purchased Bluetent in 2020. Since then it has been a slow (sometimes fast) race to the bottom. It is abundantly clear that Inhabit IQ does not care about its employees. Benefits have been cut, raises and promotions are practically non-existent, and pay for new employees is very low. There is no leadership, no direction, no goals, no culture, and generally no clear sense of where we are headed. I honestly don't think there is anything good anyone could say about Inhabit IQ. If applying to work at Bluetent realize that it is entirely owned by Inhabit and is unable to make any decisions without the blessings of our corporate overlords.

Pros

Chill vibe. Good place to meet folks to ski or bike with.

Cons

Performance metrics for devs are way off the mark. It's all about hours billed, so if you care about your craft and actually want to build something decent, be prepared to defend yourself at every turn to a manager who doesn't understand what you actually do. Feels like an assembly line, and rewards for working smarter or faster are absent.

Pros

Great people, unbeatable location for outdoor enthusiasts, small company means your work has a relatively large impact. Work life balance is amazing.

Cons

Bluetent is just now fully committing to transitioning to a SaaS company from a traditional digital marketing agency. That transition comes with its pain points. Customer base can be frustrating at times. Technology is far from refined although improving.
