This company is awful, the positive 'reviews' are completely fabricated
Pros
There is a 401k match, but it's about 4% and takes up to 6 months to take effect if your 3 month day is shortly after one of their quarterly sign up windows (in this period you can't even make your own unmatched contributions). This doesn't make up for the fact that employees are stiffed of their promised bonuses. The 'unlimited PTO' is a joke. It doesn't matter how often or rarely you take the PTO, you're still expected to have your laptop with you and respond to Slacks sent to you by the CEO at ungodly hours within moments.
Cons
There are no performance reviews or really any organization at this place. Commissions are seldom paid on time and bonuses are even worse. There have been cases even when raises that were meant to take effect on a certain day do not get applied to your salary until months later (at which point there is retroactive pay). The CEO is incredibly aggressive, and frankly abusive, towards his employees. He's completely unqualified to lead a tech startup and doesn't know the first thing about the platform he's selling (or at least trying to). I doubt he's ever actually logged in. The company is also having a very difficult time recruiting. Many people left in the past 12 months (including several senior level managers, directors, and C-suite executives). The vast majority of these roles haven't been filled yet and recruiting has been put on the backburner. For one, the process of getting anything approved (whether it's an employee raise/promotion, budget for a new employee or tools, etc.) is incredibly bureaucratic. A startup of this size should not have so many hoops to jump through. Secondly, the pay and equity is incredibly sub-par. The company over-pays its top level executives and severely undercuts its individual contributor and lower level managers, who are really the ones doing all of the work. If you don't include the tech team, which lucky for them doesn't have to deal with the CEO, the average tenure for each employee is less than 2 years... yet the growth for the company in that time is 0% if not negative. Clearly not a good sign. Most of the people who've worked here have worked at other startups before. The problem isn't "growing pains of a startup" like some of the fabricated positive reviews would lead you to believe. This startup is just a straight up dumpster fire with a horrible culture and nonexistent morale.
