Pros

Some really great networking opportunities with both customers and former managers that have helped me on my journey to leave the company.

Cons

-No training. It is impossible to train managers when you have 165 payroll hours to work with. It is impossible for two managers to work 8 hour shifts every single day with this payroll. How can you train your managers if you are unable to see them? -upper management is awful... For the most part. I have been lucky enough to meet some great managers. None of which are with the company any longer... Which should speak volumes on it's own. But the district managers that are still with the company have clearly never had an entry level business management class in college, because they likely don't even have college degrees. But if they did they would know that degrading their employees does not lead to productivity. -there have been nearly 20 job cuts amongst district managers and corporate level employees in the last 6 months. So now as if the DMs didn't struggle enough when they had to manage 7 stores, now they are managing 18 stores. This should prove to be effective........ -the stores are cluttered, tacky, and unable to be shopped by customers unless they are being helped by an associate. Well thanks to the payroll cut, how can every customer be thoroughly helped when you have 2 on 2 coverage during a $6,000 Saturday. -body bucks is the dumbest most pointless "promotion" to customers that I've ever heard. What kind of deal is "spend $30 today and you'll get $10 off your $30 purchase in a month" .... Customers look at you like you're crazy yet this is supposed to be the ultimate solution to the plummeting sales and CEIs. -the company has no idea what it wants. There is no consistency from a product standpoint or an operations standpoint. I had never felt so undermined, disrespected or unappreciated as I did with body central. I have been counting down the days until my last day and the only thing I'm thankful for about this experience is the 100 hours of PTO coming to me.

Pros

40% discount on trendy clothes

Cons

Training?? What training? There is a training guide in place, but the stores do not get the hours to train correctly, not even for management. Company values? WHAT?! I can call our support number and have been cursed at. They treat you like you are stupid. As far as promotions, no one is around long enough to receive a promotion. This company has an extremely high turnover rate. When I started, I was actually approached by managers of other stores in the mall and asked what was going on with this company.

Body Central is a joke!

Pros

Nothing. The 40% discount would be great if the product were of adequate quality. Clothes should not be such a disposable item and should hold up at least 6 months. Simply put, the merchandise is cheap and the quality is substandard.

Cons

1. Standard of clothing is poor; jewelry is extremely cheap. 2. Training -- oh... What training?? No hours are provided to adequately train managers or associates for that matter. 3. No adequate lunch/breaks given. Hours are so tight that coverage cannot be provided for lunches. 4. The IT department also is a joke. When called to fix certain problems, the techs act as if they dont know what they are doing. 5. In all my years of working retail I have never had the displeasure if working for an "organization" that clearly lacks organization. 6. At times, workload is unrealistic as well as expectations regarding workload. 7. It is very clear that people really do not matter to this company from a human resources perspective.
