Pros

Tight nit with my co workers, but mostly over the strict policies and regulations. I do not think they are wrong for most things, but realistically Is sterilizer takes at least 15 minutes to sterilize (at minimum), and they will only pay you for the absolute minimum, especially when it comes to cleaning and maintaining a sanitary room. Break room was nice. Spa was very nice. Owner(s) means business.

Cons

Made very ludicrous suggestions in regards to training and "who is responsible for what". Had to pay for one of my own "out of house" trainings for a service they wanted to offer at the spa. Then tried to tell me to take models for a service THEY wanted, I had to utilize time on my days off, unpaid. Also, they will tell you that there is "two people in the spa that are going to pretend to be your friends, but they are not actually your friends." When you ask them who it is, they'll tell you that they can't tell you because they don't want to create an uncomfortable environment. By that, they mean the two owners (aka the people doing the interview). Don't fall for their weird psychological interview process where they ask you about the strongest shape or your favorite colors.

Pros

Beautiful building and most clients are nice.

Cons

The owners are terrible people, which is mind boggling because they are a local family, not some faceless corporation. They are also massage therapists themselves, but yet couldn’t understand why their therapists complained about being overworked. -They pit employees against each other and assume everyone is trying to steal from them. -They bad mouth everyone; employees, past employees, clients and even each other. Super unprofessional and awkward. -They talk to employees like they are dumb and truly seem to dislike everyone who works for them. -No one is allowed to bring in bags, phones or any items they may need. -They have cameras everywhere and will call the spa to complain about how employees are doing things. -You are expected to clean and fold laundry off the clock or get berated for not being a ‘team player’. -Schedule was always packed full because they cannot keep a staff to handle the amount of clients trying to get in. -Every time they raised prices, they would lower employee’s commission so they never got paid more. -There was an employee that worked there for over five years and never got a raise. -They didn’t care if you got injured from overworking and tried to guilt people into working overtime, even though that’s so terrible for manual therapists. -Trying to take time off was a joke and you are not allowed to block yourself off, ever. -If you were sick, you had to get a DRs note. Every single time. My doctor was flabbergasted that I had to get a note for a stomach bug and said it was a ridiculous policy to make people come into an already overtaxed medical setting because they thought all their employees were lying. -They have something against pregnant women. I know of four women who were pregnant while working for them and they all had horror stories of how they were spoken to and treated. -The turnover here is unbelievably high because no one wants to put up with being treated badly. -Check the local papers there is some not great stuff in there about them too.
