Disconnected Leadership

Pros

Super creative atmosphere. Up and coming architects were brilliant to work and collaborate with.

Cons

Nepotism. Disconnected leadership. Layoffs seem to be an annual thing so they can meet budget but they keep it under the reportable percentage. They told the team about annual raises individually and then called in the majority of the team days later to say they couldn’t fulfill their raises while they excluded certain people that were being laid off simultaneously.

Pros

Great learning experience. You can lead and push design when given the opportunity. Wonderful people.

Cons

To get the opportunity to lead and push design, it often comes at the detriment of your personal life. Leadership heavy & rigid heirarchical and corporate policies. Leadership often in meetings about leadership - which gives you the opportunity to lead design on a project (silver lining?). Title promotions with no monetary compensation, Compensation is not competitive, no bonuses, etc.
