Pros

Free food on Tuesdays Semi work life balance

Cons

You basically always live in constant fear of being fired. Most normal companies will fire when the person is an under performer or because of gross misconduct or a large layoff. This is not the case with Boku. They will pitch hard, pay not so well, and then randomly fire even if there is no rhyme or reason. While I was there I saw several great workers who had zero reason to be let go, get fired. I also saw lots of not so great people stick around who weren't the most qualified or the best at the job. They will sell you work life balance, but really expect people to try to work 24/7 to be fired even if you do so and hide it under a "reorg" I was there for less than a year and there were 3-5 re-orgs all ending in several people being fired for absolutely no good reason (even solid top performers). And everyone there acts like it is the most normal thing in the world. There is also zero clarity from upper management and a lot of terrible business decisions that are being made. Some of which make absolutely no sense. What others say about putting fires out is true, they don't prepare and put off a lot of important decisions only to have it become a fire later. It's true they hire lots of great people, but it is too old and big to be a start up and operating as sloppily as it is. If you want a secure job, don't work here. Because one day you might wake up and randomly be fired even if you are a stellar employee. The negative reviews are accurate.

Pros

The pay was OK, benefits were really good. Free lunch once per week, work from home once per week.

Cons

Absolutely no training whatsoever, people that have been there for years get treated much better than new employees. Most managers are super fake, will run their mouths behind your back to get you in trouble. They play favorites a lot. Perks given to older employees that go against company policy, and you have to be there for years to get treated right. HR is mostly useless. It took w months of me complaining that my laptop didn't work after they gave it to me unprovisioned and had me set everything up with no training and their wiki being out of date by at least 1.5 years in some sports, 3 or 4 years in others. Their setup is incredibly complex and written in java (who uses java nowadays for server side? Seriously), which also takes forever to build. Any small mistake will get you railed by qa and then 2 managers. You are expected to be perfect. My round trip was 6 hours to get to work, and no appreciation was shown. I was told multiple times by managers that I was "a huge risk" which obviously isn't exactly a confidence booater. One manager, after railing me for a simple mistake and talking down to me to make me feel dumb, called me the next day in a Saturday morning at 8am to do it again. If you like abuse, this is the spot for you

Pros

Free snacks and good health insurance

Cons

Very low payment and very stressful environment. Management is extremely greedy and do not have a lot of experience regarding several issues. There is no room for advance and they do not take any good advices from good employees with experience.
