      Poor Executive Leadership

      Pros

      There are very few, if any, significant/meaningful pros at this time. The company used to be a decent place to work but the culture has gradually and systematically deteriorated over the last several years.

      Cons

      Senior executive leadership has proven to be weak, misguided and entirely out of touch with its most important resource - its employees. The executive leadership group operates as a good old boys club recognizing/rewarding non-performers thus alienating the solid performers. They routinely don't hold poor performers accountable which has led to several good employees (at several levels) leaving the company. Trust and confidence in this leadership group has extremely diminished. No longer comes close to our company mission statement.

      Pros

      Safety was discussed a lot

      Cons

      This company talks about ethics and integrity and they used to have it, when Oscar Boldt ran the company. They are a lot of talk but turn their heads when real issues arise. Top heavy with poor inexperienced management. Cannot get jobs or make money on the jobs we get in a booming market?? And employee owned which means this effects the employee's paychecks and benefits.

      Regressing fast

      Pros

      There may have been a pro 10 years ago... notice how most of the positive reviews are coming from interns, who are not involved enough to understand the company and/or the direction it is heading.

      Cons

      Over 100 employees have left the company so far this year... voluntarily! That’s basically 1/5 of our non union staff. Let that sink in... Boldt pretends to offer work/life balance. They pretend to invest in you. Everything is reactive. People are in management positions because of tenure, not because of skill... and then are not held accountable for their actions. Executives are lying about how the company is performing. We have lost millions of dollars due to poor business decisions and continue to make the same mistakes! No action is being done. Do they not realize we see the weekly communicators which show the LACK of jobs we’ve been awarded? The ESOP is a joke. They do not have a 401(k) match. They are focused on developing only a small group of favored individuals. If you are not in that group, you are disrespected and unappreciated.
