Terrible management and no prospects

Pros

none, except maybe you get some snacks a couple of times a week

Cons

the place is run as a dictatorship, with no management between the owner, who micromanages everything, and the rest of the staff. The owner has no background in media and doesn't know have basic journalism or business, so everything is done on his whims. Unfortunately, he is only interested in profit, so there is no professional development, training or basic communication beyond daily demands. Just a company built around a lonely man in his bedroom.

Pros

Free snacks, fun people, an occasional party

Cons

The majority of the employees are young people (below 30) which makes the abundant issues at the company look predatory. For a company that rivals social media giants, the pay in this company is laughable. If you're going to try and negotiate for your salary, prepare to be emotionally manipulated by an overworked staffer since the company doesn't really have an HR department with proper training in the field. The majority of editorial team is overworked, stressed to extreme levels, all while receiving the lowest pay in the company. They make you sign various NDAs to try and prevent people talking about their salaries and keep their employees oblivious to the fact that the salaries aren't based on their work or experience, as people who work a couple of hours a day earn 2-3 times more than those who work during their lunch breaks and after hours. The company also uses scare tactics to prevent people from speaking out by firing those who offer constructive criticism. And let's not forget the sexist undertones. All in all, there is a plethora of issues hiding behind a carefully created facade of an "inclusive" successful company whose owner boasts about millions that he doesn't know where to spend, meanwhile his employees are being crippled by a stressful work environment all while earning pathetic wages.

Pros

There are no perks that outweigh the bad working environment of this company

Cons

The company is run by people who have no idea what their responsibilities are and how to fulfill them. Their deep-set narcissistic nature prevents them from taking responsibility for their actions and listen to constructive criticism. People who are responsible for company's culture engage in bullying, sexism, toxic behavior, and set inadequate deadlines and workloads for the staff. The employees often receive angry and aggressive response when they voice their concerns over poor working conditions, some are even getting fired over it.
