Like I mentioned on the pros depending on the team you may have a laid-back manager. Unfortunately, for me, my manager literally breathed down my neck, never gave me positive feedback and made jabs about my appearance and was very nosey about my personal life. This team constantly gossiped about other members on the team or in other departments (which made me every reluctant to share personal information) and my managers were very quick tempered. Quite literally any inconvenience would set them off into this swearing rant which was uncomfortable to listen to. Going into the office and having to listen to managers complain about their job and forced to listen to it because my manager hated the fact that I wore headphones was literally making my ears bleed. Two years of constant negative picky feedback combined with progressively adding more work, made me burn out and mentally unwell. Keep in mind this isn't every team; some teams have very lovely managers, but I was just unlucky here.

Niche industry but if you like it, it’s not too bad.
