Pros

Most positions here except for the overpaid sedentary style jobs require constant physical activity which will probably do more for your overall fitness than working at a gym. Money is alright, definitely not worth the amount of work you're doing but it funds the CEO's ability to show off his $20,000 model cars on CNN money so at least someone is profiting from your hard work. A lot of people there are on drugs, so if you need to smoke a joint after work you can. Realistically, if they actually did a urinalysis on people other than the ones they were just trying to get rid of there would probably be around 30 employees left out of the possible 1000+ that work there. Guaranteed to make you appreciate your next job when you finally leave provided you're not permanently on disability from some accident in this facility.

Cons

Oh where to begin? Let's start with the production and then move onto overall issues. Production: Welcome to the wonderful world of picking things up and putting them down for 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. That is of course unless you get called to come in on your only day off or a snowstorm is due to hit so they allow you one day off for the storm and close the building and then mandate you to come in for the next 14 consecutive days because you've been promoted to essential personnel. By the way, if a state of emergency is issued you must drive to work and risk the ticket or you're getting a point against your attendance. During mandatory times no PTO or Sick Time will be accepted. Freezer selectors: In the freezer, temperatures will range from 0-20 degrees Fahrenheit and you will be expected to stay there for the entirety of your shift not counting your lunch break if the supervisors haven't convinced you to forego those entirely to improve your percentages, and they will try. You will need warming layers, but not the nonsense the company provides because it just doesn't work well at all and is unnecessarily bulky ruining your production performance of course. Base layers are best, and not too many socks either. Once you're sweaty enough you will get your layers wet and that will be worse than if you weren't wearing enough to begin with. Need to warm up? There is a warming room attached to the freezer that has dryers and bathrooms that sometimes work! The room always smells like socks and sweat though due to what's being thrown in the dryer, that is assuming you've made enough spare time on your orders that you can warm up for a few minutes and not sacrifice your first 15 minute break or your second 15 minute break which by the way, you won't get the 2nd until after you've been there at least 11 hours that day. Yay! Don't get frostbite, as soon as you do the company will toss you right into grocery side after some dog and pony show safety meeting that is provided that isn't the final point you've accumulated for accidents and they don't just terminate you. Oh and you will also lose your 2$/hr freezer pay and will not be allowed to go back to work in the freezer. Like walking around outside in the middle of winter? You'll love the long strolls you take at the end of a 12 hour shift through the freezer to put boxes back on the shelves and collect damaged boxes for a department you don't even work for! There's nothing like pushing out a 14 hour day just so your supervisor can call you a team player that night and scold you the next for not coming in on your only day off. Management: I hope all is well in your family and that they have their good health. Should anything go wrong with your spouse, kids, parents etc. you can plead your case all you want for leaving early and you'll always be hit with the same "if you leave it's a point against your attendance" generic response if you don't have available time. Depending on which rude, careless supervisor it is the statement could be followed with something like "love doesn't pay the bills" or "if they go to the hospital either way at least if you stay you'll have money for the bill". I'm not joking, I've been told both of those and others. They are a group that prides themselves on "being a selector once" which is usually long ago and prior to the semi-annual time studies where they have an "engineer" come in and study your orders and shave off time necessary to complete it. So where 10 years ago it might have given you 30 minutes to complete an order you now have 12 minutes and 15 seconds, yay! Doing really well on your orders consistently? Management will make a note that you push hard. They'll also be sure that if you go out for a smoke break they come down on you as soon as you come back in because you're wasting time and your 110% isn't as good as your usual 120% and they need someone to carry the lazy employees who are at 75%. Don't waste your time with focus groups, it's feeding pearls to swine. Anytime you shoot out a good idea, some supervisor is guaranteed to snatch it up and pawn it off as their own, the non management employees are there as idea generators or just for show to display an illusion of all levels working on a collaborate effort in improving safety. Additionally, if you want to be successfull subscribe to the hive mind package. Independent thought is not valued at this company whatsoever and you can see it in every production trainers face, the look of failed attempts at creating a better environment for the employees so they have to settle for training new employees to being defensive and preserving their own health and interests because the company will not. Another sadly underpaid, understaffed and undervalued group at the company. Work Hours and lifestyle: You need to be flexible, your works hours won't be and your supervisors will be even less so. Ideal lifestyle for this job, have no friends or family that you want to talk to. Be prepared to have a horrible diet, fast food at 2am 5 days a week? Yes, but don't worry because all the exercise and lack of opportunities to eat will keep you in shape. Like spending 70+ hours at work a week? Perfect. Try and save up enough money to get some sort of certification and get out quick, because if you're there too long you're bound to get hurt and as soon as you do they will dig up as much nonsense as they can to try and blame you for the injury. Advancement: A few things I've learned, promotion is only for the club. Want to move up, it's about who you know. You've got to be friends with supervisors because if you're expecting to get a promotion on merit, experience and potential alone you'll be disappointed. Being friends with supervisors is the key message here, it's all political and you need to display that you're not willing to appeal to anyone but them so be prepared to step on everyone you've worked with so far to please those you've worked for instead. Promotion will be looked at heavily with seniority regardless of capabilities. There are some people in management which I would not trust with my grocery list or even a broom let alone safety and well being of human lives. And if you go to the older warehouse you're off any list. It is often spoken by upper management in these exact words "the ODC is where you go to die or retire, because you'll never go anywhere there" Yep. Pay scale advertising: I'm going to clarify this as the site seems to think your max rate is 28 dollars an hour. It's been a couple years but I severely doubt that they've raised the top rate 10 dollars. When I was last there top rate for any production was 18.50/hour. This was not including the 2 dollar freezer pay addition. You would be paid 18.50 for the first 8 hours a day, between the 8th and 12th hour you would be paid time and a half, and anything past 12 hours in a day was double time. Incidents: If you get into a mechanical accident you'll be put through this nonsensical review which is really just a formality to protect the company. If they really cared about the well being of their staff they would address the safety hazards and pay decent wages so that the turnover rate wasnt so high that it caused mass congestion in all the aisles almost year round because 30+ people will be hired in a month and maybe 5 will remain after 3 months. If it's due to you being unsafe you'll know. If you were the victim of the accident and not at fault they'll still blame you too. You'll sit down with the company VP, your supervisor and others and some attending member(s) might throw some shade at you as if you were completely disregarding any precautionary measures they had in place. In my case after being broadsided at a standstill by someone driving their machine backwards through an intersection without looking it was "Well if you were a little slower on your order then you wouldn't have been there 10 seconds later and wouldn't have been in the accident." Absolute nonsense. That's like saying if you got into a car accident it's your fault because you didn't leave the house later or call out of work that day. Don't expect much from the VP though, he is a complete buffoon who is only happy to talk to you when it comes down to profit sharing and trying to impress the employees on the 500k they gave to employees that year when they hit their new almost 4 billion dollar record for profits. Don't work here, you're better than this.

Pros

The money, this is literally the only pro,if you are willing to sacrifice your family, friends and health of course. Took me months to recover from this garbage job and god awful company

Cons

Poor management, slavery hours, dangerous conditions,no respect, if you are willing to sacrifice your mental and physical health this is the job for you, also you will have no idea when you will be getting home each day,I do not recommend this job unless you are desperate. Also when you get hurt(which you will) they will deem it as your fault even if it isn't and it's something out of your control, and it will go towards a point system that will get you fired when enough are accrued

Pros

401k plan, health care plans, generally plenty of hours. 2 weeks vacation and 1 week sick time, paid.

Cons

the standards in warehouses vary. not all employees are treated equally. supervisors promise down time for doing special tasks and then never give it to you. 401k plan is matching, but not very much. they match about 5 percent or 6 percent.
