Pros

Pre-2022, Brand Collective was the most amazing place to work. We used to have an amazing culture and the people were everything - work hard but party harder. The company used to care for its employees and there was reward and recognition for all the hard work you put in.

Cons

Since the acquisition by the PAS Group, sorry “merger”, the culture fell straight off a cliff. The CEO doesn’t trust anyone and micro-manages small and immaterial details whilst the rest of the company is burning down around him. He doesn’t understand the basics of Retail and there are many unnerving business decisions being made with little to no commercial due diligence. There is no clear direction or strategy from the leader, and he’s more concerned about people attending the office five days a week over the positive results being produced by the team. Over 100 people have quit / been made redundant at the head office in just three months and most of them were from the original Brand Collective. The solution from senior management is that we no longer announce resignations instead of looking at the reasons why so many people are leaving. What a sad ending to a truly amazing company.

Toxicity fostered by divisive, uncaring and incompetent CEO.

Pros

Prior to the merger with the PAS group, Brand Collective had a high performance, high trust united team culture. The business thrived as top talent had a passion for the business and their unique brand which was supported by dedicated leaders who genuinely cared for their team and the output of their area.

Cons

Post the merger, a culture has sadly been created where teams aren’t trusted, micromanagement is rife and people aren’t respected. The impact is evident with over 100 resignations within a 6 month period. This isn’t helped by an uncaring CEO who doesn’t know how / doesn’t want to talk to his people that aren’t part of Senior Leadership.

Pros

Where do I begin. Brand collective was by far the greatest work place I have ever been part of. We had a high performing team that against all odds came out stronger time and time again. You WANTED to be here, believe me, even if it meant working in an office in the middle of nowhere, this culture was unparalleled. The acquisition by PAS group was the demise of the once great Brand Collective.

Cons

Brand collective 2.0 was and is miserable. Run by an out of touch white male who does not care to get with the times and treats his team like children. 80% of the original workforce QUIT, some without other roles, all to escape this tyrannical leadership style. It is such a shame to watch this once booming fantastic business get ripped a part due to nepotism and horrible leadership. Bad move to the higher ups on this purchase and suite of decisions.
