Gain non-profit experience quickly, exposed to different types of non-profits and how they function, learn full cycle accounting, and growth opportunities
Cons
Environment is fast-paced and bandwidth is stretched thin, lots of employee turnover with minimal transition, workload exceeds 40 hour weeks
I learned a ton about nonprofits and how they operate, as you manage every item day to day with over a handful of clients at once. Helped me understand every aspect of nonprofit accounting. This gets very overwhelming very quickly and unfortunately management does not listen when you say you’re drowning.
Cons
There are not a lot of boundaries with a 40 hr work week and that’s not a good sign. Super low pay and benefits are not great. Need to put more care into their employees mental health
