demanding but manageable and can be stressful but it's easy to ignore
Pros
this is the bread and butter of market research. lots of interesting projects and diverse approaches for all types of industries. it's a great place to get inspired and improve on the industry as well. very traditional methods — which is great to start out of ground yourself in good ol' market research and design thinking. it's a small place so you have an opportunity to stand out and have a significant impact. this also comes with a lot of pressure if you have trouble filling your own shoes. requires you to be decisive about your workload otherwise you'll get burnt out. leadership is easy to read. lot's of patterns and predictable behavior. which does take up bandwidth* but can be used to your advantage (*you are working a 9-5 after all).
Cons
this is not the place that you combine your curiosity for the world with your work life. there are fun projects but this is not the dream consultancy, there is no room for your passion or devotion. it is a family owned business but don't take things personally here. otherwise you may get a bit stressed. flexibility and PTO, etc. was like pulling teeth (but this may have after I left, was major reason I left). B-Corp is a joke, but honestly can't blame... I'd get my consultancy certified too. SilverLake is a quarantined fantasy land full of hipsters, an unfortunate aspirational epicenter of culture. don't expect a visionary leadership team to keep everything afloat. CEO only sees dollar signs and the near term. which again, can be used to your advantage as an employee. also some of these reviews look fake af.
