It should have been a red flag from the start hearing about the insanely high turnover of staff. As soon as I started, there were jokes made about how few people stay and people joking about running off for their typical cry in the toilet for being so overworked.
There’s a severe lack of attention to the staff’s mental health with a completely inappropriate way of handling this when addressed. The well-being of the team is overtly problematic with an intense blame culture, fostering extremely low morale.
A large disconnect exists between the senior levels of the company and the rest of the employees creating an “us versus them” mentality throughout. Positive reinforcement is also a mythical concept to the company- you’ll be positively reinforced to leave. Senior members brag about BrandOpus valuing people’s opinions and speaking up, but try doing this and you’ll be shut out.
Training and development DOES NOT EXIST. Of course, in this type of industry you won’t have a linear training programme, but this is a joke and you’ll be left to figure out an unearthly amount on your own as the rest of the team fend for themselves and their progress. There is minimal collaboration or encouragement to boost your career path.
There is a really shameful level of gaslighting. One to one meetings with certain managers are dressed up as open conversations but in reality are there to manipulate you and pull out information about the rest of the team to use against them. It felt extraordinarily reminiscent to secondary school antics.
You will walk into this company feeling firm in your skills and determined to work hard and walk away feeling depleted of energy and convinced you’re incompetent. At the end of the day, BrandOpus is long overdue a massive restructure and the problems which trickle down from the top, are no where near being addressed, so steer clear of this company.
You can also see that some of the reviews on here are blatantly written by BrandOpus with extremely vague positive points to drown out the rest of the candid and reflective reviews of this toxic workplace.
