Pros

None that I can think of.

Cons

After spending decades in this industry, almost all of that time at the executive level, I have never seen a company that is so dysfunctional or so horribly toxic. I can tell you first hand that there’s a gnawing cancer in this organization and it starts at the very top in of all places, HR. This is a sinking ship captained by a lost leader and it’s sailing on a model that was broken, beaten and stranded on the reef 20 years ago. They’ve begun to represent themselves only recently as a full service advertising agency but in reality, they have less than 12 months experience in that arena. It’s just a last ditch and feeble attempt to create a new revenue stream to prop up the dilapidated model. Every advertising client they’ve gained in the past year has fired them because they don't know how to cultivate return or ongoing business as they're used to creating low quality, one-off projects for clients who never return. Each attempt and decision upper management makes to right this hopeless vessel is the exact opposite of what needs to be done, pushing it further up on to the rocks. Look at the smiling faces on the crew in the photo staged in front of the building - more than half of those people are gone; either because they jumped ship by their own wisdom or they were fired on a Friday afternoon in a, “too little, too late” attempt to make the next payroll. Those that are left are simply “yes” men that tell the owner what he WANTS to hear but sadly, never what he NEEDS to hear. To add insult to injury, during my time there I was asked to “hold my paycheck until further notice” much of the time. So sad. If you’re talking to Brandstar for any reason whatsoever my advice to you is this: 1. If you’re a current employee tidy up your resume and start looking TODAY. 2. If they offer you a job, RUN. Run flailing and screaming as fast as you can in the opposite direction and don’t look back. 3. If they offer you a freelance or contract job REFUSE it or get paid in full in ADVANCE. Then wait for the check to clear before you lift a finger on the project. On a final note, any review that you see on this page that has more than two stars was posted by management or new employees in a last ditch effort at some reputation management. All the name changes in the world won’t help this festering barge now. Just look into the reviews of 02 Media - the name they used less than two years ago. It’s even worse now as it was then.

Thank you for sharing. 2016 and part of 2017 was a difficult time. In full transparency we had leadership that we hoped would take us in a particular direction. Unfortunately, that is not what occurred and that leadership is no longer with us. Our founder and CEO, Mark Alfieri has set a new and correct path we are taking with a positive outlook. Things have changed, our moto is about “transparency”, ability to share, be open, celebrate success is what exists today. Our organization has grown and we do our best to show we value our people. People are the heart of our organization. Would like to have an opportunity to revisit with you and see what has changed. Feel free to contact me. If not, I understand and wish you success in the future. If anyone would like more information about BrandStar, our work and culture as it is today, please feel free to contact us directly. Pros

There are a few lovely people who work here, especially in the Production Department. What else. That's about it.

Cons

There is a strong culture of open nepotism, recreational drug and alcohol abuse and sexual harassment here. People even viewing pornography on their phones for hours during work. Non managers are treated like second and third class. There are very few minorities who work here. Or, worked here, past tense. Almost if not every one of the minorities have left or been let go for some reason or other. Even the one or two who were in management, and they were some of the few managers who were very professional, and well liked. And then speaking of management, this is the worst management I have ever worked for, and that is not saying much considering the reputation of south Florida TV and advertising isn't that great to begin with. The managers here are grossly overpaid yet they put down the people they supposedly are "managing" while not even knowing how their employees do their jobs. The turnover is the worst I have ever seen. Some people only last a week, or in some cases a day. They are downsizing dozens and dozens of good hard working people while crying poor. People are scared and crying and traumitized to see the good people being forced out. But then you see the same jobs immediately advertised here and on other job search sites and you see them spending lots of money on unnecessary things. Unacceptable. Promoting from within is not possible unless you benefit from the nepotism. The benefits are not competitive. No direct deposit even. It was promised many times but so far, nope... By far the worst owner and management structure I have ever experienced. When I read other reviews of this company here, I wonder what company they are speaking of?? Because it certainly isn't the real BrandStar. If you want to know what the real BrandStar is really like, do whatever you can to ask the real people who do the real work and win the industry Telly Awards for BrandStar and make good on the contracts and make the clients happy. Not the ones making the six figure salaries and the sexual harassment advances to those under them.

Pros

Absolutely nothing here outweighs the cons!

Cons

Though there is absolutely no security with anything in life, however this is blatantly put out there. The management team is all about their personal profit from their direct down line. Highly micromanaged and little compassion for true effort on your behalf. The message is "Helping People To Live Life Better" Sooo far from the truth. BEWARE HIGH TURNOVER, not worth the FAKE painting!! It's all a facade, unrecognized shows, that will never make it to that WOW factor. Not Nielsen rated, employees are the most watched and biggest fans.
