Pros

Since the management changed at the Dalton office it has changed for the better as far as moral.

Cons

Employee from a year ago. The benefits are not competitive to others. No vision insurance other than a free eye exam every 2 years. You would think in a trucking company you would want your employees vision to have the best vision possible and provide insurance that way the employees can afford to get glasses, contacts, or any other needs for an employees vision. Health premiums and deductibles are very high and unaffordable with what you get paid along with hard to find providers who accept the insurance. There are so many other trucking companies in the area who offer better benefits and pay. 401k is offered but there is no company match. Corporate does not listen to others needs and only dictates policy as well as creating more and more reports for people to do when there is programs out there to do all of these reports they are wanting. If there is a problem with the way something is being done corporate will only tell you that you are doing it wrong but will not take the time to show you what you are doing wrong and keep harping on you for not doing it they way they want but will not take the time to show you how you can do it correctly and effectively with your other job duties. Corporate has not taken the time to actually sit down and fully understand the operation of who does what and why they do it the way they do it the way they do. The owner expects something to be done just because that person is the owner. The son has become rude and wants to jump on people for something being wrong when he isn’t involved in the operations then you have to explain the whole story as to the before and after the situation which this person is also the person who does IT so if there is a problem with the system, good luck on getting a response. Corporate always says they are always available yet there have been so many times where the corporate management has been contacted about things during my time there and you get no response. Corporate micromanages the operation by watching other people’s emails which says they do not trust the people to do the job. Corporate will sacrifice good employees for people who have been with the company for a long period of time even if they are bad for the company. They buy new trucks for other terminals but sends the used trucks ready to fall apart needing a lot of work to Dalton. They want you to keep track of the trailers in their outdated system by updating it every time the trailer is dropped somewhere and you better make sure you keep an eye on it along with the other 200+ trailers and keep updating it regardless of it moved or not but they won’t put tracking devices on the trailers and get mad if you do not know what happened to a trailer. HR is a joke. They cannot keep track of anything. They were always saying they did not get something then you have to forward an email you already sent. The application process is ridiculous especially for drivers. Drivers can fill out an application online but still have to go in and fill out another application in the office for part of the paperwork which is about 100 pages (most companies have this online now) which is another antiquated way they do things and I doubt it has changed since I left. They want more business but they did not want to invest money into a bigger building for the business they are wanting to build. As I see they are still in the same building I doubt that has changed either. If a driver has an accident, the safety department wants you to do all of the work for them by putting a detailed report together and putting it into a PowerPoint and if it’s not done right they will make you fix it. I thought it was the job of any safety department to handle the reports of accidents that way they know it is done correctly so they can do what they need to do with it. Not just force it on someone else such as the dispatcher then can’t understand why you can’t get it done when they want it done among your other job duties. Overall corporate is the main source of the issues. The company is way behind in technology but wants you to keep up with the rest of the industry as far as service and standards. The building is too small for the business they are wanting. Corporate management does too much micromanaging. They want you to give them respect but they do not want to respect you. It’s ok if you are just needing to get some experience under your belt so you can go somewhere else but it is not a company to plan retirement from as there is no benefit for retiring at Braun’s.

Pros

I have nothing positive to say regarding this company.

Cons

Lack of leadership from managerial team, including poor quality of day-to-day business operations and basic employee accommodations (especially during the Covid-19 pandemic).
