Pros
They have excellent healthcare, paid leave, holiday pay, and retirement benefits. The work environment was for the most part low-stress and it seems like management really cares about the staff. It is the kind of workplace where most people seem happy to come to work everyday. I would highly recommend Brazos County as a place of employment.
Cons
Being a local government agency, Brazos County must adhere to certain laws and restrictions that other private organizations do not have to adhere to. Sometimes this can cause delays in projects and/or procurement or cause a few extra steps to complete the task. It just takes getting used to after being in the private sector where your boss says "We need this done now no matter what the cost".
