Pros

The founder and partners hire very kind and talented people. You'll have wonderful coworkers.

Cons

Break Something is a toxic environment. The partners do not know what they're doing and rely on having a staff that is very proactive in order to keep things together. They are reluctant to promote people, even when they take on much more responsibility, and they retaliate against people who leave. It is impossible to leave Break Something on good terms unless you make it clear to the partners that you will bring them business in your future role. Working here can directly damage your career, and it is not worth the risk.

Pros

When I considered taking a job at Break Something about 2 years ago, I was concerned about the negative reviews on Glassdoor. And while Break Something is a young company and there are definitely growing pains, I've overall had such a positive experience here! The employees of Break Something recently unionized, and management and our amazing HR director were so proactive fulfilling the new terms of our contract -- like setting up DEI trainings, providing stipends for mental health services, etc. The people who work here are definitely the best part of the job, and I've found that senior management is so receptive to my requests to learn certain skills, take on certain types of work/certain types of clients. I've learned a ton and the management at Break Something supports and encourages that.

Cons

Cyclical nature of work because of campaigns, longer hours during peak campaign season but that comes with the territory of any work in campaigns.
