Pros

Great PTO with the ability to purchase an additional time. 401k Match up to 5%

Cons

Lower Level Position annual raises average .24 cents. Lower level employees did not receive a pay raise in 2018 or 2019. Bremer does not provide cost of living raises. In my experience, my immediate management team was - hypervigilant and accusatory; causing me feel on edge constantly, like I need to defend my position or opinions. My honest questions or feedback is met as hostile rebukes. Unfortunately I do not feel they listen to employee concerns - rather they try hush those who are not too timid to voice them.

Pros

Pension and PTO There may be some career opportunities because employees are jumping from this company at a alarmingly fast rate.

Cons

-doing more with less taken to the extreme -incompetent decision makers with a culture of only patting each other on the back and not holding anyone accountable -executives giving themselves large bonuses/pay increases and all other employees get an 2.5% avg. annual raise over the last 3 years (top performers only) -in a nasty lawsuit with their owner— Otto Bremer Trust -according to the judge, the company should be sold

Demoralized tech workforce

Pros

Bremer has pretty decent benefits for a company of their size. PTO is generous and it's one of the few companies still with a pension.

Cons

Much of Bremer's technology work force is demoralized. A few years ago Bremer brought in a group of contractors and sequestered them away from the rest of the technology group. (tech workers are generally in their Lake Elmo facility but this group works by itself in the St. Paul headquarters). This group seems to have an unlimited budget while the rest of the tech group can't replace anyone who leaves. Yet it's this latter group that does all the work supporting Bremer's existing operations. It's hard to see so much money spent that does little to enhance Bremer's operations get any resources requested while the rest of the tech group struggles to keep up with demand.
