Pros

Most of the people I worked with on an everyday basis were knowledgeable and great to work with. The time off and working hours from 8-4:30 Monday through Friday were nice and it was a decent local job.

Cons

Upper management the last year I worked there took to using spy software to heart … now if you are a technology person this is a known factor … however, when you use Google and Stack Overflow as well as other technology sites like Microsoft to search for reference manuals and told by upper management that you aren’t being productive because you are using the Internet to research answers to you everyday work tasks —- well then doesn’t that seem a bit drastic? Darn straight! I constantly had to quantify and provide reasons on why I was accessing technology sites related to everyday work —- hmm seems like upper management just want to get rid of some of the staff? Well that is what happened, I provided a standard 2 weeks notice and they (upper management) gave me the boot the same day and made it look liked they fired me — very nice of them. Oh well, I ended up finding a position they encouraged employee growth, leveraged new technology, and fostered learning.

Pros

Good benefits, nice co-workers. great place if you want to just go to job with no interest of advancement.

Cons

No incentive to go beyond your duties (actually it is discouraged), too much conflict in upper management as well as NO transparency within the company. You must work a year after being promoted before you receive your promotion raise, and at that point you may not even be to the set minimum for your position; many employees not at minimum. New employees brought in with remote options but strictly prohibited for current employees. Employees completely replaceable, no regard on a personal level with a small company.

Not really a reliable place to work

Pros

Nice incentive for education, loved the holiday party and they have something for women, like a women's conference every year.

Cons

They don't really like you trying too hard to improve workflow or go above what you do. Not a great place to go if you're attempting to get promoted. Lots of workflow, kinda stressful
