Pros

I genuinely love working at Breville. After many average former employees, I have finally found a place that pays appropriately, gives great opportunities, and supports staff well. More than anything else, I love the trust I am afforded at Breville. When people are trusted, they trust back. They do more than the minimum. They don't need to look over their shoulder and worry - they can give everything they've got without fear. Humble culture, even amongst senior management. it's very rare to encounter arrogance, or aggression. Flexible working conditions. Great mid-level management who work under a 'servant leader' ethos, to help staff rather than monitor. I've never been told off, only supported. Empowering culture, where they ' let adults can be adults'. You are trusted to make decisions, which other companies might require only be made by senior staff. Highly innovative products, which means you can deep dive into fascinating investigations. Larger R&D financial resources, which means whatever you need to get the job done, you can have.

Cons

Large amount of staff, and scattered teams means sometimes you don't have people beside you to bounce ideas off, and get quick snippets of advice, like you would in a small company where everyone is sat beside each other in the same room. You are never made or encouraged to work long hours, but because there is little oversight over what you're doing day-to-day, there isn't the recognition that you have too much on your plate, which can lead to long hours at times. That said, if you flag this, you usually get support. Workshop is a bit out-of-date and under supported, although this is recognised and being addressed. Lack of sustainable practices, especially in the products themselves. This is acknowledge, and being addressed, but not to much extent right now (2023).

Pros

Great staff discounts and a high performing culture. It was wonderful to contribute to such an innovative and recognized brand. The design team really enjoy innovating and everyone below Exec level was friendly and supportive. Great opportunities to get exposure to a global organisation.

Cons

There was regular turnover of CEO and Exec level positions. The in-fighting within the execs was very disruptive. It is also very focused on the amount of time you're at work rather than your productivity level which can be draining and time wasting.
