Pros

Good pay and Good Benefits... Especially if you like to get drunk on the companies dime!

Cons

The "Clicks" are very realistic. Appreciation if far and few in-between. Favoritism is highly expected at this organization and is seen in the promotional considerations. Too many young inexperienced individuals work at Brinkmann. The field representation has a "fake-it-till-you-make-it" camaraderie stance with-in the field "Clicks". High disregards and disrespect for the new leadership of 2016!

Pros

-Great Culture -Exceptional Work/Life Balance for the construction industry -Interesting Project Variety -3 Weeks Vacation, and Generally Great Benefits -Pay is above average but is not adjusted based on location. -Close knit community inside the company that makes it fun to be at work -Rapidly growing company with lots of room for advancement. -Extremely Rapid Growth (Both a Pro and Con)

Cons

-Top Down, office-focused structure. Field can often feel left behind -Advancement is solely based on quantity of projects completed, not quality. -The revere for Bob Brinkmann (and his resistance to change) borders on cult like and fresh ideas need to be injected at the C-Suite Level -Training and Orientation is very sink or swim. The Resources are there but you need to find them. -Extremely Rapid Growth (Both a Pro and Con)

Pros

Competitive pay if you negotiate well, 3 weeks of vacation base, lots of responsibility and good opportunity to learn a lot very quickly and take ownership of your projects, some genuinely good people at the company

Cons

Jobsite culture and company events are reminiscent of fraternity days in college and can be very unprofessional. Have not experienced the level of drama and back-stabbing present at this company since high school. Get on the wrong person's bad side and they'll do everything they can to find a reason to get you fired without giving you a chance to voice "your side of the story" or your opinion. The company is very lacking in terms of diversity. If you don't hunt or fish regularly, don't expect to feel welcome. Racism and misogyny were experienced on several occasions - not regularly but this is not something that should be tolerated on any level in any environment, much less a professional environment. Jobsite safety is lacking and superintendents responsible for enforcing safety policy don't do anything about it because "it is the way it has always been done" or "they're just painters/flooring installers/etc." If you aren't putting in 60+ hour weeks you are made to feel like you aren't carrying your weight. Company staffs projects with a "run thin" mentality which inevitably leads to burnout. I genuinely think my manager tried to avoid this becoming an issue, but we were left with minimal support on a project which the company executives who made staffing decisions did not understand the scope/scale of issues present. If you are looking to work for a professional company with decent work/life balance, don't waste your time with Brinkmann.
