Pros
we often read that the younger generation may view working for the same group for 32 years as "boring", i can tell you my 32 years with Saint-Gobain / British Gypsum have been far from boring. But i will leave you be the judge of it.
i may have worked for one employer but i have held position on 2 continents, 3 countries, 2 divisions, 5 businesses and 9 locations.
i had short assignment in 22 countries on 4 continents.
i have managed "turn round", continuous improvement project, rationalisation and major capital investment.
i have been involved in acquisition, merger and divestment.
And i have always worked with diverse team with a collective competence and motivation of the highest level.
i think that is more than 32 reasons....
Cons
Mobility may be seen for some as a challenge. it can be but ii can ensure you that all my moves ( 8 in total so far ) have been rewarding both professionally and personally. it is also true for my wife and 3 children.
