Pros

Friendly colleagues, work-life balance (after I left they implemented a lot of great things like reduced hours for full pay, remote working as standard), interesting area of work, had a lot of opportunity to grow within role and as a line manager. Was lucky to have a great boss during my time there and had a lot of fun with our extended team.

Cons

Pay is comparable for most charities but not sector-wide. Hard to make progress in small teams so often need to leave for next step opportunities and big pay jumps.

Pros

BSR is a progressing not for profit employer which has undergone significant change over the past few year, making lots of improvements. As an SME, employees have easy access to the SMT and each other, and work together in a collegiate and increasingly collaborative way. BSR is a friendly organisation to work for, provides good benefits for its staff and has embraced hybrid working . The SMT provide various opportunities for the staff to contribute to strategic planning and to shaping the operating culture of the Society.

Cons

As an SME, opportunities to progress are few, especially with a very low staff turnover. Some areas of delivery need to be re-thought.
