Pros

They have fairly flexible scheduling and I usually can pick up extra shifts if I am available. The shows and brands that BC reps are usually really great too, and it's obviously easier/more enjoyable to promote higher quality shows and experiences.

Cons

It's a year round job outside, so working in the elements is not the best sometimes. But we have umbrellas, nice jackets, hand warmers, popsicles to make sure we are comfortable when it get's rainy or snowy or too hot.

Pros

I came into the job with zero theater experience and over the time I've been here I've learned a great deal on how the industry works. It's a great side job if you're an artist working on your craft at the same time. The people out working in this industry are the coolest. You'll meet a ton of great people while talking to tourists. Lastly, if you read this far, the coolest part of the job is the Broadway Tickets. You'll get tickets to any show they represent so it's a great chance to see a ton of theater!

Cons

It's a start up so there's always small growing pains but generally it's been great. If you are nervous talking to people this isn't the job for you. It's a great lesson on how to overcome failure but if you are not fit for critique this won't be your favorite job. The hours can also be low during the slow months when people are not purchasing Broadway tickets. Lastly it gets super hot in the summer and very cold in the winter so if you do not like working outside, try something else.
