Pros

This is a decent growing financial company. Provides the youngsters with lot of exposure to financial markets. Lot of young people from MIT, Cornell and Stanford working there. You will get to work in lot of different financial instruments like bonds, equities, euro-bonds etc. Founders are nice technical people who with the young and smart people from MIT and Cornell are driving the culture of this company. The biggest perk this company gives is the flexible work hours with ability to work remotely (even from a different country). They arrange lot of nice after-office parties where the employees can interact each other after work(thanks to the event manager). People who works here, most of them are very down to earth. The culture is largely cultivated by the smart people from MIT and Cornell. This company takes it lot of interns and give them exposure to the financial industry. Their software framework TOC is highly scalable and the CEO and CTO together had done a very good work of developing that technology from scratch. This company provides free Lunch with option to order from any restaurant you like and there are lot of snacks, sodas and alcohol in the kitchen all time. The event manager takes care of the employee birthdays and order nice snacks for everyone in the office to celebrate the birthdays. Also they arrange for the annual get together parties where people from other offices will be flown to Austin or NYC or Waterloo to interact as a team. They have very good client base out of USA. The sales team is really good and they are down to earth.

Cons

This company acts like a temporary stop for people going to Google or Facebook. Ambitious people are not going to stick around because there is zero chance of career growth here. Mostly you will stuck with what you have been doing for years without promotions. People who cannot get into Google or Facebook stays around for a while until they find their dream job. Talent and Culture is non-existent, senior people have started leaving the company because of severe disagreement with Talent & Culture and is mostly because of meddling in their promotions or work flexibility. Most of the time the project plans are aggressive and there is no-organized team work. Somehow individual contributors gets the project past the deadline than a team effort. In that case hiring experienced people are more helpful because they can start working in no time. This company spends lot of money on fresh graduates, but none of them seems to continue after gaining experience. That is a serious money loss and bad HR strategy. Also even if this company claims to be open about complaints and suggestions, please beware of going to Talent and Culture with your complaints and suggestions, It can be twisted and used against you.

Pros

High compensation, depending on your location. Decent work/life balance. Good benefits and perks.

Cons

The company claims to operate as a meritocracy that fosters employees' independence, but favoritism dominates the culture and the potential of career advancement. Management is often poor or nonexistent.

Pros

Management is open about the companies finances, senior management all seemed to genuinely care about the employees, good comp/benefits, people are pleasant to work with, very profitable/stable financially.

Cons

Customer driven development process leads to a lot of short term perspective and mucho technical debt, it was never clear there was any long-term vision for improving the software looking past the current round of customer SOWs. Nobody owned the build/test systems (a "shared responsibility"), with the result you'd expect. Lots of the work involves integrating with (broken and/or insane) customer and third party systems.
